How do you determine the starters?
I pretty much agree with all of the players. Since a coach can only "nominate" a player aand not "vote for their own" its a pretty fair way of assessing the talent. I am sure there may be a few who are questionable and a few just as deserving but thats life.
I did listed to WIBX today and they did a good job. Paul did a good job at assessing the all stars. I do not know him but from what i hear he is an upfront and fair man. Its too bad he gets grief from people all the time.
Andy you did a nice job this year with Legion baseball. Good luck on your career in journalism.
I believe the starters are the first name listed for each position.
And...Thanks for the compliment on the coverage. I really enjoyed interacting with everyone all summer long. You guys were great. And thank you for the "good luck" wishes. I appreciate it!
It looks to me from looking at the list of the two teams that the players are listed in alphabetical order, so I doubt that the first player listed is the starter for each position.
New Hartford Post had a very difficult time turning a double play this season. Errors for certain players were not posted on the stat's for NH making it difficult for the coaches from the other teams to make an accurate decision on the "All-Star" players.
Where is Lee Foxton? Led league in HR, and was involved in every offensive category in entire league this year. What a tragedy.
how many teams did the "defensive" stats on the website? my guess is none
I believe that in Oneida County legion, and almost everywhere, defense is just overlooked, it's unfortunate that things are that way, i mean how many times do you open up the paper and read about a spectacular diving play that saved a couple of runs, almost never, you only read about the errors that one team or one player had.
On the other hand offensive stats are always listed, such as doubles and who had two hits, defense should be a bigger part of in legion baseball.
its also hard becasue some players had very good stats but there was more competition at there position, while some positions had alot less competition for a spot.
